Today we are fighting one of the most difficult battles of our time against an enemy that appears invisible - The 2020 coronavirus pandemic was first confirmed to have spread to Belgium on 4 February 2020, when a Belgian national repatriated from Wuhan to Brussels tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Transmission within Belgium was then confirmed early March at the end of the school holidays around carnival, when many tourists back from Northern Italy returned to work or school, leading to an epidemic with a rapid increase in cases in March–April 2020. By the end of March, cases had been registered in all 10 provinces of the country
